Here are the part numbers that are stamped into each gator.

I purchased springs from the Michigan company for a cabriolet. The springs held the rear end up pretty high, but I had them re-arched locally and they turned out great. I made my own spring covers and it was a week-long project.

Thanks Curt, if I don't have any luck finding some I'll end up assembling a set from what I have. I counted the leaves and I have both 8 and 9 leaf springs.

Craig Birkhold picked up a set of springs from me and was going to have a shop duplicate (with intention that anyone needing could buy a set from that company) - you may want to contact him and see where he is on the project (he is a club officer).

There were running changes in the coupe & cabriolet rear springs. Cabriolets and coupes came with a trunk , a lot more weight could be carried. Also note, that the sway bar links (and shock links on the lever action equipped cars) were longer.
My suggestion is to put a pair of springs together from originals. Be sure the spring covers fit.

Curt I was afraid of that being the problem. I guess that's why the factory offered lowering blocks d10983 between spring and rear axle. I also noticed that cabriolets and coupes have a different part no for rear springs. Probably less arch or one less leaf. I'm open to any suggestions. I haven't found anyone that will do the taper on the end of the spring.

There is a well known place in Michigan that claims to have the original specs. I know of three sets of Auburn springs that were done there and there were no happy endings. The cars sat way up in the air and looked ridiculous. And the spring covers do not fit.

Mike, I'm in Denver area. The places I have used here before are either not interested in doing it or have gone out of business.

I'm looking for rear leaf spring specs for a 34-36 8 cyl cabriolet /coupe so I can have them made locally. Is that info available?
