I took a couple of (grewling) years off to build a new shop and garage. Now I'm back to my Cord 810 Phaeton restoration. It has the original leather and I previously replaced only the truly bad portions and preserved over 90%. I previously installed new carpets. The engine has been rebuilt (at what for me was an astonishing cost). I've removed to windows and found someone to replace the glass. He found someone who has successfully polished the chrome parts rather than rechroming them. I haven't reinstalled the engine and transaxle yet. Previously I purchased a set of wiring harnesses.
When I rewired my '47 MG TC I found it a must to start by labeling both ends of every wire in the harness using painter's tape. A step I missed then but will do this time is to check that every wire in the wiring diagram is in the harnesses. (I removed each label as I attached the wire to the car.)
If anyone who has rewired a Cord has any additional tips or tricks, please share them.
Thanks,
Tom Wright
