Unfortunately, a Goodrich Silvertown is not produced today. You can get a BF Goodrich Tire (and I have bought a few sets over times for various Cadillacs and they are fine), though is is a far different beast.

Terry, You are correct this is a Hand built Cord but not because of the lack of a brace under the hood. I have seen "production" Cords with no braces, One , two even three braces.

If you look at the ribs on the firewall you can tell it's a hand built. Also the Air Cleaner and the fuel pump. If you look close there are a couple of other differences.

The Cord pictured in Johnmereness's posting is one of the Hand Built Show Cars. There is no brace inside the bonnet or hood.
I had a look through Google Images under Goodrich Silvertown tyres and found the attached advertisement which shows an earlier time frame however the two diamonds are clearly seen on the tyre wall. These tyres are called Goodrich Silvertown Cords.
I have added a picture of my Westchester that was taken in late 1936 it clearly shows the original tyres with the two diamonds.

Curt, I believe you are running the Goodyear's with the stripes on the sidewalls on all your cars (in Blackwall verses Whitewall though) ?

A Firestone tire has a "shield" with a script "F" in the shield for a logo.

I am not much of a white wall fan , but a set of those double whites with that design would be impressive. 700's would go on any 8 cyl Auburn.

You only have the single sided whitewall available currently though in any tire company option:

I would lean here to a Goodyear - I have installed several sets now and find them to be a good quality tire that is actually "round", plus has a nice "Art Deco' pattern on the whitewall that adds some character.

Or if a radial is wanted:

On dad's 1935 851 Phaeton, I am running a Diamond Back Toyo Tire with whitewall applied - dreamy ride.

The double white walls I understand. Has anyone seen the double diamond pattern that appears in many of the photographs that show the outside of the tires.

Double white wall means white on both sides of the tire. The first single sided white walls were introduced in 1939

Every 810 812 Cord came with 6.50x16 tires. If you wanted blackwall you had to ask for it. Otherwise you got double whitewall tires. The double whitewall tires are very rare now. This last set I knew of sold for something like $3200.00.... As for the manufacture I do not know.May have been Firestone...

Correct tires for a 37'812 was created by Drivencord
Hi folks, I am wondering does anyone know what the correct tire brand and style was for the 37 812 convertible coupe? I have seen many photos and the majority have a whitewall with two diamonds in black on the sidewall. Were these Firestone tires?
