Question about ACD Annual Reunion and How My Car would fit. was created by elipper
I am probably one of the newest owners of one of these cars (I bought an 8-98A Speedster) and while I am pretty experienced in showing cars that experience is all about 1960's muscle cars, Jaguars, Porsches, Ferraris and stuff like that. This is my first prewar car and I am trying to figure out if I fit in. I met a guy through AACA who has been helping me. I know nothing about ACD judging rules. I can say that it is a good car, authentic, and was ACD certified #1 but it was over-restored in the past by Dallas Winslow. It was owned by Al Ferrara when it was restored. I know that the engine has too much chrome but there is nothing that I want to do about that for now because the car doesn't need me to take it apart as it is still too nice and I like the patina. I would like to bring it to the reunion but was curious if I would be laughed out for the chrome. Frankly, from Houston, Texas to the reunion in Auburn is a long way to be kicked to the curb. Just trying to figure out if I should do a reunion trip or switch to Cruising the Coast which is a lot of fun too. I guess my big question for this group is what rules apply to this sort of car?
