They had AUBURN in the lens. See the pix above. A friend posted a pix of my car.

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

Thanks Curt.
You are right about the blue dots not being around in the 30's.
Did the 36 Auburn speedster have "Auburn" embossed in the tail lights or just plain red lenses.
Thanks.

I don't believe 'blue dots' were invented yet 1935-36.

Thank you for the picture.
As I suspected this is the correct tail light assembly for the car.
However, I have a replica car and the lens cover has 2 screws for attachment to the housing.
So in order to not change everything I will try to find a replacement lens for my existing (but not correct) housing.
Thank you very much for your help.
I do appreciate your time.

Hello all;
Could anyone tell me, or better yet a picture, of the orginal tail light lense for my 1936 boat tail speedster?
Presently I have red with blue dot centers and was told by my "Collector Plate" / "Heritage Plate" insurer that this was not correct in order to get a collector plate approval.
The car is a replica and that is clearly shown in the application form that I sent to them??
Thank you all for any help you can offer.
