Mike,
4 years and 20,000+ miles in weather most of us will never see in our cars. I think you have a good testament to lasting power.

Mike,
The door hinges are in great shape.
The pins for the rumble seat lid hinges aren't sloppy, but I discovered one pin has a nasty groove worn into it where a set screw was on one side. I'm thinking I'll make new pins from 5/8" dia rod. If I make the pins from stainless steel I wouldn't have abnormal corrosion problems with the cast iron hinges would I?

Are the hinge pins sloppy know that the rust is gone? Reaming with new pins might be in order.

I've been soaking parts from my 29 Auburn in a gallon of EvapoRust. On some badly rusted parts, I had to soak them about two days, but it worked great.
I have some questions about the hinges. On the door hinges, the rust cleaned up effortlessly and the movement was good. Did they nickel plate the hinges back then?
Regarding the cast iron rumble seat lid hinges, these were badly rusted but after about 36 hours, they're almost rust free. Now, is there a good coating that I could apply to the hinge pins and bores, that I could then mask off when I paint the hinges? I was wondering about electroless nickel.
