Looks like 35 Auburn sending unit, although stud is on other side of triangle.

Here are a couple of pictures of an original '36 oil sending unit.  It is installed in the passenger side of the oil pan (between the starter and the startix.

You had better go on the AACA site under Cadillac.

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

Hi Gary

My car has a flathead cadillac engine in it.

Thanks

The oil level sender was located on the side of the oil pan. I don't know if your engine can use the original sender because I have not seen what engine you now have in the Cord.

Thank you for your message. I see their float style sender for sale. My next question is, where was it mounted on the oil pan?

My car was repowered and I’d like to reactivate the oil level gauge.  Any insight as to how the original functioned will help me in getting mine to work.

thanks

Go to Ebay and look up the Auburn Cord Duesenberg company. They have about 135 items listed for sale. One item is a complete oil level sender showing the float. They also have the fuel tank sender with the brass float. About 6 years ago I posted exploded pictures of what is inside both of these senders. They are just simple rheostat boards with a contact finder rubbing on them to send a message to the dash gauge. You can search my postings for the pictures.

Does anyone have any photos of the oil level sender and equipment necessary to make the instrument work?
