Randy, I was wondering who is "Amesly"? I know that when Tony Pascucci's Tourester was at Ted's for restoration, Ted removed all the wood framing and had it duplicated. Additionally, molds where made for all the castings. I have a clear memory of the Tourster body buck in the back room where they were making the bodies. I wanted to check with my dad to make sure my memory was right and he confirmed this.
Here is a link to Tony's car (his son John has it now) that the Billings bodies were patterned after: www.johnnypsclassiccars.com/Car16.html

P.S. Guess where I am right now? Hint: it's another name for light brown hair, can also refer to a university, and is the seat of DeKalb County.

At that price it would almost certainly have to be one of the Roxas rebodies, but Randy Ema will probably weigh in with the correct info when he gets a chance.

It is my understanding that there were several Derham Tourister replica bodies produced back in the '70's. I wonder if this is one of them, hence the low price? <!-- s:?: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_question.gif" alt=":" title="Question" /><!-- s:?: -->

I spoke to Sterling just before the auction but didn't specifically ask him about the Duesenberg. He is converting his museum to an all Cadillac facility. He said that in his opinion that Cadillac is the ultimate in attainable American luxury. Pretty ironic comment from a man who made his fortune selling Toyota's and Lexus.

(June 2007) The Worldwide Group conducted an auction of the Sterling McCall Old Car Museum collection, including a 1934 SJ LWB Derham Tourster. No serial number info was given. At the June 23, 2007 auction the Tourster brought $407,000. That is quite a difference from another Tourster, J444, that sold earlier this month for over $1.4 Million!

Does anyone know anything about this car, or have any pics? Sounds too cheap for a supercharged Tourister.
