Agree. I use 2-degree wedge plates on my '35 and also run radial tires. Drives and steers like a dream. Universal wedge plates are available through auto supply stores.

Mark:
The 31-33 service manual calls for 1.5-2 degrees positive caster (lower end of the king pin tilted forward). I have my 32 set with 2 degree wedge plates and it steers fine with no shimmy. There are two 1934 factory service bulletins recommending a revised setting of 3.5 to 4 degrees for the 1934 Auburn models. There are no further bulletins through 1936 regarding caster, so I assume the 3.5-4 degree setting is correct for those cars also.
Kindest regards,
Steve Stevens

Does anyone know the optimum caster steering adjustment needed for a 34-36 Auburn? I read that 10 degrees is common with radial tires, but you need power steering to overcome the steering "heaviness" that occurs at that angle.
(The caster is achieved with wedge shims under the front springs)
