Powder coating was definitely not used on Prewar Cars. It became popular for car restauration in the 80ies!
You will not need special heat resistant enamel. Simple spray paint is resistant enough.
Good luck

After checking the internet, it seems like powder coating wasn't used until the late 40's or early 50's.
Can anyone at least confirm Auburn didn't use it on under the hood parts?

Regarding refinishing a Sparton SOS horn for a 1929 mounted to the engine- should it be powder coated or spray painted? If spray painted, does it need to be high temp enamel?
The color is black. Appears to be gloss enamel.
