When I first removed my tank about 15 years ago I found a strips of plywood that had been covered in body deadner between the tank and body. These were about 3/4" thick which caused some problems with the filler pipe.
During the restoration I made some new strips about 1/2" thick from memory. They too were painted with body deadner to seal the wood. You would never know they were there and provide an alternative solution.

Hi George, any idea how thick these pads or spacers are supposed to be?
Thanks,

On my 810 , 2023-A I found several individual insulation pads. Likely the one piece celotex pad was a production change at some point.

There was one fiber board(Celotex) there as a spacer.
Thanks Jim. One of the reasons I asked like I did is Carol lists them at $30.25 Ea... So I was wondering how many are needed. On Monday I sent her an email asking to add this to my order she has waiting to be shipped. I already received almost all of my 26 piece order but she was shipping a few parts in the large shipping package the firewall pad was coming in. When my parts arrive it will be like Christmas in April....

Gas Tank was created by 1748 S
How many Celotex spacers are needed that fit between the gas tank and the body? When I removed my tank a few years ago I found a large piece of particle board that was melting away. Thanks...
