You mean I can't just claim that my Cord was owned by Eliot Ness in his Cleveland years post-Chicago?

lol

Sheesh, didn't mean to drum up this much controversy...I love all your cars, people, and they're all important. :D

That would be a great (separate) thread...the backstories behind your ACD car, the people who rode in it back when it was new or "a used car."

I have very little knowledge of the life of my renumbered 812 before August of 1950. I like to think that it led a colorful--perhaps scarlet life--in the romantic fringes of Cleveland area night life. As battle worn as it is, I consider it still to be an "important" car.

Maybe I can start my very own mythology about its past? :)

I look at all these cars that I work on and think about where they have been and what stories could they tell if they could.. I really enjoy being around these as do most of the people in this club.
My 2 cents
Ken

I know, Ken. That's why there's quotation marks around "important." I mean that even if no celebrity ever rode in it, it's still a great and wonderful car. :D

Wouldn't be the first time...won't be the last...

That said, I hope you do find the answer to your photo quest, one way or the other. Even if no one "important" ever rode in the car...it's still a Cord. :D

The lost photo is plain Misery. That's why I'll Cry Instead. Money Can't Buy Me Love or another photo but With A Little Help From My Friends, We Can Work It Out.

What have you unleashed, Chris?

We'll Help! all we can. Let's Come Together and find the photo. Hopefully, It Won't Be Long before it appears. However, if you can't find the picture, you'll just have to Let It Be.

Sorry, you just can't give me an opening like that.

It would have been cool for the Beatles to have been in it way back when. It's just too bad the photo has gone AWOL.

The Beatles were at the following venues.
Sept 3 1964 Indianapolis State Fair Colliseum.
Sept 4 1964Milwawkee Auditorium.
Sept 5 1964 Detroit Olympic Stadium.
Sept 6 1964 Cleveland Public Auditorium
Aug 20 1965 Chicago Comisky Park.
Aug 12 1966 Chicago International Ampitheatre.
Aug 13 1966 Detroit Olympic Stadium.
Aug 14 1966 Cleveland Municipal Stadium.

The car was owned at the time (1959/68) by E.D.(Al) Miller,an Appliance Repair man of Hunsberger NE, Grand Rapids .

Of course it may not have been the Beatles.

The poster mentions the car is RHD so I would imagine the photo was taken "over the pond".

Was the photo taken in the Grand Rapids area at that time? I don't think they every visited this area ...possibly Detroit, but GR didn't have an auditorium that would have held their crowd at that time.

The "Beatles" in a Cord was created by Barrie Sly
In a history file that came with my Cord 812 phaeton was a letter from a prevous owners wife replying to an enquiry from a member in Sandwich,Illinois who owned the car 1969/71,the car was previously in Grand Rapids.
The lady also enclosed two photos showing who she thought were THREE of the Beatles in the back of the car,she described the photos as being taken some time ago (before 1969)"because they look so nice, not scuffy as today"and "the paper that printed it has long ceased to exist".
The letter is in the file, also the envelope, but not the photo,I contacted the owner in Illinois who could not remember the photo.
I have looked in every Beatles book that I have come across, but can't find any pictures.
The Beatles were in the Northen States between 1964 and 1966.
My car would have been black in that period, and would have had English registration number FYF 924,and the top must have been down, also the car is RHD.
I have therefore come to the conclusion that it hasn't been the Beatles, but some other English group-Dave Clark Five,The Who,The Hollies,The Kinks,Hermans Hermits or ????????.
Has anyone seen any photos with this content?
Maybe it was the Beatles!
The picture was published in a newspaper or a magazine.
