It binds along the top lip on the right on the same side as the cable. I have a fractional gap on the sides.

They were on the car before I bought it. However, they had been removed and were in a box. When I bought the car it was partially restored so the fenders may have been reworked as I did not need to do any work on them.

Mike, No, the screws i talk about are those holding the healightframe to the lid, marked with red arrows on the pic; each side of each headlight.

Philipp,
Are you referring to the mounting holes that hold the canister to the fender?

mak sure you have the large very flat slotted screws fitted on both sides of the housing since hexnuts will not clear the fender.

Only thing I could add, other than good luck, was to be sure you don't put them in the wrong fender. My body man put them in the wrong fenders. The cable connection goes on the inside of the fender, he put them in the outside and of course the cables couldn't be connected.

Is there a trick to installing the Cord head light buckets?
I have reassembled the lights and need to install the buckets in the fender. I have tinkered with the adjustment screws on the back and the inside rotator screws that hold the lid. I am having trouble with the lid clearing the fender opening when opening and closing. The lights have not been put in the housing yet. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
