Bearings went in as if they belonged, the arms move up and down without binding.
So alignment seems in order.

I've made up some sleeves to get the inner seal on the outer bearing to seal on the arm,
made up spacers to get the outer nut to cover all the threads on the outer
arm(hopefully to keep water, mud roadsalt and such off the threads).

Shimmed the outer bearings to get them tight but not binding when I tighten up the nut.
Tightened the nuts up to 170 lbf ft, will retighten in a few days (next year)with loctite and drill for pin.

Another puzzle done.On to the next!

Best wishes for the new year everyone.

I'm ready to refit the front suspension arms.
Arms are modified to permit lubrication of the inner bearings.
Will check alignment of inner and outer bearings.

What is the consensus on fitting the outer bearings?
Use the distance collar and torque up the nut?
Or leave out the collar, adjust the bearings to minimal play
and "stake" the nut with loctite and or drill for a rollpin or such?

Am I correct in assuming the felt seals run on the arm and
not on the inner bearing surface?
After looking at the inner seal of the outer bearing, how is that supposed to seal?
The arm is about 1/10 inch thinner as the nut??

Thanks
