Thank you to everyone for a large number of information about
and for your help.
I'll be careful to purchase the car and of course, I would be soon a pride member of ACD club.
I'll contact soon the cord enthusiast in Europe, I discovered with pleasure
they live not so far from me...
Thank you so much again.
Other informations and help are very appreciate.

I remember when George had the car it was a nice running car. George had made a few minor modifications for reliability and to drive the car. The car was overall in nice shape. It still had the original interior and the body had been repainted a bright yellow.
George donated the car it the ACD musuem where is sat for about 5 or 6 years before it was sold at the Musuem auction 2 or 3 years ago. After that I lost track of the car.
As many people have already pointed out cars don't like sitting, this is especially true for Cords. Cords seem to run better the more exersise they get.
Stefano, it sound like you are buying the car and I wish you the very best with it. Cord can be very enjoyable cars. If you haven't already please join the ACD Club. This is a wonderful group of people who are willing to share a considerable amount of experience and expertise on the cars.

Me too spotted some details that are not correct and the left headlight-lid is not fitting well. A certyficate doesn't imply that you get a restored car !
Museum-cars often need major technical overhoul due to lack of use.
Also check the geaboxserialnumer for beiing the right one and make sure it's the right stubframe with correct strengthning and the correct stubframenumbers.
As a Europeen buyer, you are very far away from USA, so before you buy a car you really have to know what you get. Getting parts shipped from USA to Europe is very expensiv, because of taxes etc. ! have the car checked for any damage and "lost parts " before loading in the container and the same after unloading the container, sometime Parts can be "lost " between seller and your home. I know what i talk about ! Get as manny details of the car before shipping and get any statements about condition or deals on paper with date and signature , just an advise from my expiriance.
I don't say you should step back, but the price has to be reflected by the actual condition and not what you imply or what you have ben told !
I'm currently restoring my 1937 Cord 812 Custom Beverly SC and living in Switzerland, If you like you can contact me on : <a href="mailto:]
The more i know, the more i realize that i don't know enough.

If you are going to purchase a Cord, you should join the ACD Club. It is a valuable resource of information through its members and its award winning newsletter.

Make sure you take a hard look at it before buying. Jim O'Brien or Ethan Turner both know this car. It may behoove you to contact either one.

I would like to compliment those who have posted to this thread with
extremely fine words of caution and advice for our Italian contributor.
often in our marvelous hobby the desire to own a given motorwagon
clouds our judgement and prevents our remembering the most basic
commandment of commerce of any type, i.e. caveat emptor. We all
wish a successful ultimate purchase of a Cord for the gentleman,
Sincerely , Jonathan (Jack) Richards aka <a href="mailto:]

Merry Christmas
After looking at the pictures shown on the dealer's URL I can only reiterate what Tom has said; pls let the car be inspected by a knowledgeable Cord owner. E.g. looking at the picture of the engine compartment I noted already a few topics which are not original (and certainly are imho not o.k. for a condition 1 car): fuel lines, air filter, condition of firewall, routing of vacuum lines etc.). And by all means for that money you have to test drive it (if it was in a museum there may be some damages for not having been run for a while: engine, transmission (corroded contacts?), brakes etc.).
Though this sounds negative, it may prevent you from big headaches (I am working on a Cord (not mine) which had some nasty hidden issues!)

Yes, I'm sorry, I've made a mistake on the dealer web adress.
The car is for sale from platinumclassics and is the yellow beverly sedan supercharger.
Thank you for your advertises, It's always the right way...
I have a copy of the title and the ACD certificate and I'm paying the car directly to the actual owner not to the dealer!
However, what do you think about this car?
Have someone information about it history?
Thank you very much for your help,
Stefano Landi

After Chris's post I noticed that the dealer's URL has an "s" at the end of the name. The link provided by SteveLand omitted the "s." That expains the apparent lack of a website.
I still recommend--as always--inspect and verify, verify, verify!

A word or two of caution.
1) You're buying this car without seeing it or getting any inspection service to aid you?
2) The link to the dealer's web address goes to a web server vendor service. Anyone can apparently buy this web address if they elect to. The dealer web address appears not to exist.
3) Have you verified that there actually is a title to this car [i:3vshcy8l]and[/i:3vshcy8l] that the purported dealer actually has the owner's OK to sell it?
4) Have you spoken to the owner about it?
Be fair and reasonably trusting, but verify, verify, verify!

Gentlemens,
After along period of wait, finally
I'm buying a yellow 1937 812 supercharger Beverly sedan from a dealer in NY.
www.Platinumclassic.com
The previous owner is Mr.George Dadakis.
There is an ACD club certificate and the dealer told me it was inside the ACD museum in Auburn.
Could someone help me with some more information about this car and it condition or history?
serial: 31839S
engine: FC 252 5
body: C96 184
Thank you very much for your help and attention.
Merry Christmas again,
