Lots of folks have just one Duesenberg. :D

In addition to the His and Hers set of Phaeton Sedan and Speedster, he can have Twins (the Cabriolets). Plus the older child, the Sedan. A whole family of Salons!

He does, but this is Cagney's and then he will have two. Does anyone have just one Duesenberg? And the color fits his others.

Mike, I thought he had a 1934 Cabriolet already?

You must remember that Bill P. will be in town and likes twelve Salons.

It seems like the cars with the celebrity background are more popular.
In the early eighties Ferrari's went for a song and now, 10.9.

How about a prize for the lowest bidder?

Thanks, Joel. My wording above has been amended slightly to reflect that.

The world in general, and particularly bidders who don't do their homework, prefers exciting fiction to boring fact.

My bid is $425K. I hope it goes for more and maybe I will sell my 12-165 Cabriolet with rear mount.

PS Cagney did not have a drivers license to drive this car, let alone the money to buy it.

I've done several of these on Duesenbergs, and another member did one on the Brandon estate's Cord L-29 a while back. I think it's high time we gave Auburn its turn.

The car in question is a 1934 1250 Salon Twelve Dual Ratio Cabriolet, promoted as either originally owned or used by James Cagney, star of "The Public Enemy" and "Yankee Doodle Dandy." Cagney drove the car in the movie "The Mayor of Hell."

The car will be sold at WorldWide's first auction at their new world headquarters in AUBURN on AUGUST 30, which means those of you in town for the Festival may be able to take a shot at owning it yourself. The estimate is $400,000-$600,000.

THE RULES

Place your bid. The bid that is closest to the top price bid for the car, or the sale price WITH commission, is the winner. The winner will receive the famous Hearty Handshake.

Bids must be in by midnight August 30. Good luck!
